Shiba Inus - Why not Buy in Pet Stores
Shiba Inus may be acquired from various sources. However, buying from puppy mills is not recommended due to many reasons. Pet stores rely on impulse buyers. All puppies are extremely cute, however, pet stores sell the pups about which little is known. A pet store puppy can develop a health problem that will cost a pretty penny to cure. The pet store puppy may have some genetic problems, as it is unlikely that his parents have been screened for genetic diseases and conditions. With pet store puppies, you cannot be sure that the puppy you have bought will fit the Shiba Inu breed standard. Having no chance to see the pup's parents, you do not know if its parents fit the standard, and you cannot see the strong points and the faults that each parent has. Many pet store puppies have spent most of their time in cages. The habit of eating, sleeping and eliminating in one place may make housebreaking your puppy much more difficult. A good breeder keeps the kennel clean and makes sure the puppy has a separate elimination area. By the time the puppies are ready to go to their new homes they are house trained and the socialization process has been started. When you buy Shiba Inus from pet stores, you support puppy mills and irresponsible breeding.
